register monitor?

Hello, first of all sorry for my english, i´m from Argentina but for some reason we dont have a forum or any customer care in spanish.

I recently bought an P2311H monitor and i dont know if its necessary register my monitor on Dell website to validate my warranty.

I'm trying to check my warranty entering my supposed service tag but it say it was wrong.

What i have to do to validate my warranty? Why my service tag in the back of the monitor (the same on the box) say its wrong?

I bought it from a minor reseller, i was wrong?

I will thanks if anybody say me what i have to do, if i have to do something...

23" monitors do not have a service tag number. Only the 27" and bigger get a service tag number. Contact the reseller and ask them for Dell monitor order number. Order Support can then look up that number to see what warranty the reseller purchased. If they can find it, they can then transfer it to you.
