39078:savefs: RPC error: Program not registered (Urgent!!!!)

Hello,

I have got this Networker client which is inside a DMZ. My networker server is located inside the corporetion network. The firewall on the DMZ is set to allow traffic betweent the Networker client and the Networker server on every ports and both ways (from client to server and the other way around). Despite this, I still get the following error when I try to launch a recovery operation on the client side:

PritSrceen.jpg

On the the server side, everytime I run a backup for the client I get the following error message:

PritSrceen1.jpg

Can you guys please help me on this matter?

Hi Assis,

This is a connectivity issue. Are you sure all ports in Firewall are open?

Those should be from 7939 to 9936 (TCP)

and all ports UDP, otherwise use nsrports command to change the ports to be opened and open those, both ways in the firewall.

Thank you

Carlos.

Don't forget two most important - 7937 and 7938

If you are in firewall enviornment, then there is no point in openeing all ports between the server and client. However if you have opened all the ports and still getting the error try to do a telnet on the ports used by networker from both sides on the first four ports

# telnet hostname 7937

Hello,

This message also means that the networker client service is not started on the client itself.

I totally agree with you, and this has been the issue at several times.

I could think of looking at rpcinfo from both the hosts, checking the services and also for any previous versions of running services which might have blocked the port.
