We do not use a STK but a GRAU.

However, in such cases, i always verify with sjirdtag scsidev@# what the jukebox thinks to see.

Maybe this will help.

Hi,

Using sji commands for a Silo (regardless of vendor) will not work as the robotic arm is not connected via SCSI but is accessed via TCPIP from NetWorker side. Workstation for the silo has the connection and different commands would be needed to get the status of the drives, slots, volumes.

The usual withdraw/deposit commands should work in NetWorker and be passed to the Silo/workstation for action (i.e. to put tapes in CAP or from CAP to slot). However for this to happen the CAP has to be in a certain status so as soon as tapes are deposited and the door closed ACSLS does not immediately tape the tapes and put them into slots.

It is recommended to have the CAP in Manual mode and this can be checked from the ACSLS server running "query cap all" which will list the available CAP's and then changed by set cap mode manual x,x,x where x,x,x is the CAP address.

As for tapes coming in as unlabelled which are known to NetWorker this does not sound correct.

If your using the GUI deposit/withdraw commands should be built correctly and used. for command line nsrjb commands you need the following: -

Withdraw:

nsrjb -s

to ensure they are correctly made available to NetWorker jukebox resource.

If in doubt please consult command line reference guide.

Bill Mason

Bill,

our GRAU is controlled via SCSI. Believe me - at least sjirdtag works ;-)

hi William

the cap is online mode...the volume has it's barcode shown properly after add...only the barcode colum doesnt show the barcode and in order get that load/mount initiated...strangely, the volumes can be removed or withdraw from GUI without error after ejected all tapes from ACSLS manually but this is 2 step work (preferbly all tapes shd be ejected from GUI errors)...trying to get the right process....will test again when time permits
