AIX : Modify client network configuration
Hello.
AIX 6.1.7 on server and client Networker.
Networker 7.6.4.5
We did an "AIX" clone operation of a server to another. Everything was cloned (Networker client too).
Sometimes, we have this message with the backup of this client (but not at at every backup) :
39077:save: error, Host name verification failed - unknown host: 192.168.XXX.XX, please check reverse lookup entry for this machine on your name server
5777:save: Cannot open save session with XXXXX
I think I checked all things on the server and on the client, but it seemes I forgot something. All resolution are made by /etc/hosts files, which are both OK (on client and on the server).
I also tried to uninstall and resinstall the client, unsuccessfully.
Is there any information stored into networker configuration ?
Thank you for your help.
Steph

I forgot to say that this machine is back up by a windows storage node.
But the DNS entry is good (verified) in our name server.

Can you place entry in DNS?

Stephnane,
Is this 192.168.102.21 the correct main IP address for your client? If so can DNS lookup the IP and return the main client name or is it an alias?
If it’s an alias and not the main client name is it included as an alias in the NetWorker client definition?
