Backup and Restore

Dear All,

Suppose one clinet named DC1 is backedup with IP 123, we have rebuild another client name PARO1 with IP 123, can we restore the DC1 data into PARO1?

please help me,

If you're talking about Nw, then you can do this. Networker will try to resolve always the name of the client. If the clients have changed IP, but the name can be resolved, there's no problem.

You'll may only have to set some permission to do this recover, but it depends on how things are configured.

Yes you can. Create new client with paro1 name and do directed restore from dc1. Make sure hosts and DNS are updated with new information.

To perform directed recovery, put root@paro1 in the Remote Access attribute of DC1. Some people put *@* in Rmote Access field which means anyone is allowed to recover the data so root@paro1 is not required. If windows, use administrator@pao1.
