It's just a warning - you can ignore it.

What is the error?  Did you use jbconfig or GUI?

Hi Ishita,

What is the error you get when trying to configure the devices?

Do you have persistent binding configured?

Thank you,

Carlos

Using Linux and GUI is kind of contradiction :-D

You probably wish to use persistent names (check /dev/tape/by-id folder) - I believe jbconfig -p should be used.  Also check if you see library (you can use inquire or changers command).  I have for example:

[hcrvelin@foo by-id]$ ll

total 0

lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root  9 Apr 14  2015 scsi-1ADIC_A0C0120420_LLA -> ../../sg7

lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root  9 Apr 14  2015 scsi-3500308c0a0eaf000 -> ../../st0

lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 10 Apr 14  2015 scsi-3500308c0a0eaf000-nst -> ../../nst0

lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root  9 Apr 14  2015 scsi-3500308c0a0eaf004 -> ../../st1

lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 10 Apr 14  2015 scsi-3500308c0a0eaf004-nst -> ../../nst1

lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root  9 Apr 14  2015 scsi-3500308c0a0eaf090 -> ../../st2

lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 10 Apr 14  2015 scsi-3500308c0a0eaf090-nst -> ../../nst2

lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root  9 Apr 14  2015 scsi-3500308c0a0eaf094 -> ../../st3

lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 10 Apr 14  2015 scsi-3500308c0a0eaf094-nst -> ../../nst3

and I have those configured that way:

[root@foo ~]# nsrjb -V  | grep control

  control port: /dev/tape/by-id/scsi-1ADIC_A0C0120420_LLA

[root@foo ~]# nsrmm | grep tape

(nothing) mounted on LTO Ultrium-4 tape /dev/tape/by-id/scsi-3500308c0a0eaf094-nst

(nothing) mounted on LTO Ultrium-4 tape /dev/tape/by-id/scsi-3500308c0a0eaf090-nst

(nothing) mounted on LTO Ultrium-4 tape /dev/tape/by-id/scsi-3500308c0a0eaf004-nst

a) was jbconfig executed from the host which also sees the tape library?  Normally you always run this from host which controls robotics

b) if jbconfig doesn't find any library and none of them is defined, it may mean library is not visible on that host.  In that case it is either that lib is not visible to the system or you are on the wrong host

c) visibility of the library, using NW tools, you can check with changes and/or inquire command(s)

It's warning - not error in terms of failure.  From what I see, you do see drives, but not robotic hand.  Is robotic hand zoned to this box where you run jbconfig?

i have zoned drives and media changer,  iam working with VTL library...

Hi Ishita,

Select option no. 4 in jbconfig and try to configure the library with manual option.

It may help with the configuration.

Also check number of changers you can find on the server and the same on Networker end.

Check the changers command. (changers -l).

share the same output with us and no of Libraries on figured on NMC with name.

i think your medium changer not seen by networker server.

check your zoning. your inquire -s didnt show any changer.
