Can I backup a Windows 2000 SP4 client with Networker 7.6 or above ?
Hello
I would like to backup a Windows 2000 box with Networker.
The compatibility matrix for NW 7.5, 7.6 or 8.x does not speak about Win 2000, only 2003 and above.
I tried to install a 8.1 client because on the site it is written that it supports Windows 2000 [SP4],
but the install process fails.
Any idea ?

We also still have a Windows 2000 server to backup. It runs on NW 7.5.1.
Although not supported any longer, support should be able to provide you a link to download older versions.

I also have bunch of win2k clients due to dependent and older version of Siebel. The latest version I have found to work with is 7.5.2 (build 492). Support can provide this version.

Many thanks for your quick answers.
I would like to backup my Windows 2000 with networker 8.1, does this one accept a 7.5.1 or 7.5.2 client, although not supported ?

Yes, you could do that way without support.
