Client direct for aftd on linux at NW 8.1.1 - anyone using this?

The release notes for 8.1.1 suggest that it is now possible to use client direct on linux with an aftd (not DDBoost). I have a server / storage node / client all redhat, but I just cannot get this to work. My target aftd is a Data Domain directory nfs-mounted to the storage node.  There are precious few clues as to why its not working, but I suspect that the 'device access info' is not correct. I've googled to my wits end, but I cannot find any an examples of what this should look like for a linux box. I think I should have two entries - the first one should be what NetWorker put there when the device was configured ie the local pathname. The second I believe should be the remote name, something along the lines of :/ where he exported pathname is the pathname that the storage node uses to the aftd on the Data Domain. But NetWorker will not let me configure this, says I'm mixing local and nfs names. Anyone achieved this? Care to share your wisdom, and more usefully, a working example?

Hi Claire,      So you are saying that the AFTD is already created and mounted or you are having issues achieving this ?

it's already created and mounted at the storage node. I can use it in the traditional manner no problem. But now I want to be able to use it in a 'client direct' kind of way.

I didn't try this with AFTD, but did you configure this manually or did you use wizard to create AFTD?  Using wizard might help you get values as expected by NW.

I’ve tried both ways. Manually first, then as you suggest, using the wizard to see if anything different happened. It didn’t.
