Clinet id issue

To configure an Exchange2010 backup with Networker8.2.1 by client name 'MAILDAG' , an error occurred in the last.

Adding new client "MAILDAG"

Operation Failed

Found alias: MAILDAG.ii.local client map using client id:7554f20c-00000004-55e54898-55e54897-0be7e778-04aee7d1. If renaming client: MAILDAG.ii.local to MAILDAG specify this client id. Otherwise, re-apply to create a new client id.

Then I change the client name to 'MAILDAG.ii.local' to reconfigure, the error is shown as this:

Adding new client "MAILDAG"

Operation Failed

Client name MAILDAG is already an alias for client MAILDAG.ii.local

Neither MAILDAG.ii.local nor MAILDAG can't be found in 'Clients'.

Hi Patpata, this is a Chinese forum and so people communicate by using Chinese. I will move the question to English Networker forum soon. Thanks.

Hello patpata

Why would you like to rename the client from FQDN to short name? I would recommend you to use FQDN to create the DAG client.

Try to do as follows:

Create manually a new client Instance with FQDN, and in the tab "Globals 1 of 2", in the client ID field please add the one specified in the error message:

7554f20c-00000004-55e54898-55e54897-0be7e778-04aee7d1

Once created use the client Wizard to modify the client accodringly.

If this doesn't resolve the issue then most likely you will need to open a ticket with support so that they can help you to solve the duplicated client Id problem.

Thank you,

Carlos

Hi Carlos, Thank you very much.

It's failed when I added the client id into 'Globals 1 of 2',  It seems the client id, short name and FQDN already exist in system, but I can't see them in 'clients' . Could you help me on how to delete them with command?

Thank you

Justin
