Well, the issue seem to be with one of the dd devices. A lot of errors - Unable to remove auxiliary files .....Disabled this device and the backups started running fine.

Where did you see that?
I have recursively looked throughout all the files in /nsr/logs but I did not find any hit.

In the failed saveset details on the NMC. This error is nowhere else to be found.
I am guessing this is being caused due to some intermediate network issue but am not able to prove this theory.
