E20-597 - Networker specialist exam clarification

Question

Would like to know how far this exam has been inclined towards Networker 8.

Have worked on networker for quite some time (currently on 7.6.5) but we are yet to move to NW 8. (therefore no practical exposure to the same)

Please let me know if I may take the plunge with the networker knowledge that I have with theoretical understanding of networker 8.

Both the exam and supporting courseware for the E20-597 NetWorker Specialist Exam for Storage Administrators reflect NetWorker version 8.0 and NetWorker modules NMM 2.4, NMDA 1.2, PowerSnap and SnapImage. The courses were updated in November 2012 and the exam was updated in January 2013.

Here is a summary of the major differences in content in the supporting curriculum:

Added content for NetWorker 8.0 including Client Direct and synthetic full backups
Added overview of NetWorker integration with DPA, VMware, Avamar and Data Domain
Removed mention of NetWorker Modules for Microsoft SQL Server and Documentum
Added content for NMM 2.4 support for SQL server backups and recoveries using VDI as well as VSS
Added content for NetWorker 8.0 including new performance features, changes to All save set, nsrsnmd and changes in nsrmmd behavior, automatic volume relabel, new device and storage node fields, synthetic full backups, Client Direct backups, clone-controlled replication, report home, audit log, new firewall guidance, multi-tenancy and enhanced security, changes to user group resources, jobs database
HomeBase and much of the standalone tape topics removed from the course

Like.. Candidate "A" is the 10,500th EMCSA Networker specialist or so.... Just wondering...

I recently passed Exam: E20-597: NetWorker Specialist Exam for Systems Administrator. Here am I sharing my exam passing and preparation experience. Take your time with the questions, it is important to read carefully with understanding. I have finished the exam more than 1 hour before end time, it’s just because of I already know the exam structure, so there is plenty of time. I am personally seeing there is content overlap between the exams so likely there is that benefit as well. I would recommend you go on web and search valid exam practice questions as much as you can, then you will find E20-597 much easier as you will just be reviewing items you already studied for over 50% of the exam.
