Hi there,
Are you using NMSQL or NMM to backup SQL?
Thank you.
Carlos.

Hi,
I don't see any reason why backup should be configured in a different way, however could you please share with us the error message you are getting when backing up the stand alone DB on the DR site?
Thank you.
Carlos.

You can't backup SQL database in mirror state as per MS.

Hi,
In NetWorker Module for SQL Server 5.0 and higher, log truncation was enabled only when a level full backup was used. Log truncation occurs only if the user specifies it. By default, the module does not truncate logs. Note: The NetWorker Module supports log shipping with SQL Server 2005 Enterprise Edition only. The software does not support log shipping with SQL Server 2000.
Kindly check the following Powerlink article about that:

Hi Ahmed,
User is referring to backup of standby database and for that one, as I stated, restrictions apply. See:
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms191235.aspx
Of course, user is talking about log shipping while I'm talking about mirroring. I suspect he might be using mirroring instead, but I could be wrong (most likely it uses combination as that is most common approach). Bottom line, from backup perspective, he still can't make backup on standby side as database is not online.
