Encryption of server-side backups is possible. But as far as I know it's only a per-client and not a per-group setting. Try the following directive to encrypt a complete UNIX/Linux file system
<< / >> +aes: . ;
The password for encryption is set in field "datazone pass phrase". It can be found in thee servers adminstration view's "configuration" tab -> server -> "properties" -> tab "configuration". Please use this setting with care, afaik password is stored unencrypted on networker server.

FYI, the "aes" directive can be used for encypting save sets of Windows filesystem also.
New directive can be created and applied to all the clients whose backup requires to be encrypted. Rightly said, it's not a per-group setting.
Thanks for your inputs.

Hi all,
Does anybody know which versions can work with this kind of encryption? Is this method more secure than the xlateasm one?
Thanks a lot,

Hello Antonio
NW 7.3.2 and newer supports aes encryption
aes uses a more secure encryption method than xlateasm.
Thanks.
