I believe this is not possible as Exchange requires /OU to be the same. Not sure if it helps as it applies to EXCH2k, but here is one good link:
http://www.microsoft.com/technet/prodtechnol/exchange/2000/support/dbrecovr.mspx

Anyway, your error is expected as MS requires this values to be the same. I would suggest to open up this with MS support and once resolved what and how needs to be done to rerun restore again.

As for Exchange module itself - I would suggest to obtain highest build which incorporates some fixes. For that you will need to open a support call with your support provider for EMC software.

If that would be a limit (which I don't know) I would assume it comes from MS world. In first link I have sent on MS site they do list number of such limitations and those are probably inherit in Exchange itself. To get it right you will need to engage support on this.

Where do you get that error? (besides, it would be recommended to open a new thread for new problem). This "distinguished name" is usually used in LDAP world and so far I have not seen it with NetWorker (or Exchange module). But then again if you look for that term under KB you will find couple of advices:
- Support Note 65365
- Support Note 50051

Check them out - they should help you out.

As noted before - those two support notes should help you out - if not open this with support - they will probably first give you updated module version and if that doesn't help they may give you the same advice too.

I have read this article on your KB :

Symptom: Source and destination Exchange Servers are in seperate Active Directory forests where the domain names match

My recovery Windows domain is different form source !

Is it absoluement necessary ?

Jimm Couillard,

Did you resolve the issue with the restore? I.E the server distinguished name was not set.

I am having the same issues.

Thanks Ed Coty
