Fake failed backup due to bad resource pool.
Hi,
I'm new here, so please forgive me mistakes. I have a problem with a false backup / workflow failure.
On the monitoring tab, I notice that the VMWare backup failed, but in detail I see that all virtual machines were successfully created. So I looked into the logs and discovered the following entries:
09/16/19 02:00:09 Unable to find selected vCenter container work item with ID "resgroup-4822" in vCenter, the work item will be skipped.
09/16/19 02:00:09 Unable to find selected vCenter container work item with ID "resgroup-2406" in vCenter, the work item will be skipped.
The group details shows me:
nsrpolicy group display -g DRS_DC1_Services
type: NSR Protection Group;

I am not sure what for those 2 are. Can you please help me to fix it or just remove? It is anoinyg to see every day a failed backup when it is working properly. I have tried to update the group and remove it via CLI:
nsrpolicy group update vmware -g DRS_DC1_Services -O resgroup-2406

Thank you for you help and suggestions. It was really easy to fix it. I do not know why I did not do it before. I have deselected all VM's and selected again those which are needed. It looks like there was some old entries somewhere and it cleared it.

The output alone is important. However, it is only one piece of the puzzle.
Lots of guessware to be answered. In general:
- what are you using at all (at least software & version)
- what method do you use (VBA, NVP or ?)
Add a little meat to the bone ...

Can you in turn go to the NMC -> Protection -> Groups -> click on your group and make sure that the correct VM/resources are selected in there ?

The VMware integration guide states that if a resource pool is deleted and recreated the backup fail. You might have to recreate the protection group to get rd of this error. But before doing so, I would go back to my VMware admin and get more information about the 2 resource pools that are listed in your list.
