Physical tape?  That's possible, but you can't do it on your own.  You need help of specialized company which has tweaked tape drives that can jump over end-of- marker and read what is beyond that point.  Such data can be restored most of the time with scanner and be given to you on disk (a might tricky when having continues save set).  Bottom line is, you can't do it on your own.

thank you for the answer.

It is DD860 (VLT L-180 emulation).

The data is not so critical i am just asking.

With VTL, you can take tape out as data is on disk.  Now, when you relabel tape in NW you remove all references to that tape in NW.  On DD, pretty much the same thing with marker should happen, but if you react quickly and if EMC engineering has tool they could manipulate it at very lowe level.  However, if that is not done until next scheduled garbage collection/cleaning which may remove some unique data segments to that tape - then you stand no chances even in theory to get that data back.  At least that would be my unnderstanding, but for DD VTL this should really be answered by someone from EMC who much deeper into those engineering details.
