Yes you could do that or

To remove the drive from the configuration :

Go to the NetWorker Management console -> Connect to the respective server -> go to devices -> drop down "jukeBoxes" -> right click on the respective library and select "Reconfigure Jukebox" -> on the window that comes up uncheck the drive that was replaced -> Click configure. Ensure the drive is enabled state and not assigned of any pool

Go to the NetWorker Management console -> Connect to the respective server -> go to devices -> drop down "Storage Node" -> right click on the node to which the new drive has been configured to -> select scan for devices-> select the default options on the wizard that comes up. wait for the scan to complete, then click on the storage node you should be able to see the drive with listed on the right hand pane with an orange wrench icon beside it.-> drop down "jukeBoxes" -> right click on the respective library and select "Reconfigure Jukebox" -> on the window that comes up select the new drive and click on configure.

This should do it but many cases the drives are not auto configurable, in such a scenario you can delete the JB and reconfigure it. Remember to take a copy of nsrdb before you do any changes incase you are not sure of what you are doing.

Hi m4nd4r

Please download the NetWorker command reference guide from support.emc.com or download the entire NetWorker documentation portfolio and you will find the command reference guide.

This document describes the jbcongif command as well as all the flags and options to be used, furthermore you can also find the step-by-step information as to how to configure the jukebox using jbconfig command.

Thank you,

Carlos

You could simply delete JB in NetWorker and reconfigure it in the NMC. Also, to reconfigure a single drive you would need to use jbedit and not jbconfig.

crazyrov , Thanks for your reply.

Sorry, but could you please elaborate more on "You could simply delete JB in NetWorker and reconfigure it in the NMC."?

I did not get the difference between NetWorker and NMC. Did you mean that I have to delete the JB from the NMC and and then configure it from command line on NetWorker server using 'jbconfig'?

If you deal with the NW Admin  GUI you will see 2 windows

  - the NetWorker Management Console (NMC) - the first window to open. From here you connect to a NW server and

  - open the NW Admin GUI.

Unfortunately, people mix up terminology - of course you usually deal with the Admin GUI. Here you must remove the jukebox resource and either try to detect/configure it from here or from the command line (jbconfig).

However, before you re-configure it, make sure that inquire shows your hardware. Otherwise the will be nothing present to be configured.
