Great, first part of that worked, now I'm trying scanner command again and getting error
C:\Program Files\Legato\nsr\bin>nsrjb -lnv -f rd=drpfee3:mkc400: 000125L4 setting verbosity level to `1' No jukebox named 'null' check_shared_devs returning err 1
C:\Program Files\Legato\nsr\bin>scanner -iv rd=drpfee3:mkc400: 8909:scanner: using 'rd=drpfee3:mkc400:' as the device name 9046:scanner: mkc400:: open failed, The filename, directory name, or volume label syntax is incorrect.
I think I'm getting somewhere with this command, not sure what it is still attempting to do as it hasn't moved past the last line in the last 10 minutes
Here is my question, given the command above (one of my reply's to myself), I went back to my production system and performed the command shown below, but the ssid shown in my previous posting (ssid=3515000648) where is that coming from? According to the flags, c means entire saveset is contained on volume and the E is eligible for Recycling, correct?
Okay, frustration set in, I moved the Tape Drive off of my OpenVMS Server and attached it to my Windows Networker Server, created device \\.\Tape0 and ran the same scanner command: (scanner -vvv -m \\.\Tape0) and it worked and re-created my Tape Volume 000125L4 in the correct media pool. Why ?

Dave,
Review this EMC KB article - it gives you the steps and commands needed to recover date from media that is outside the retention period.

Mark,
Great, first part of that worked, now I'm trying scanner command again and getting error
C:\Program Files\Legato\nsr\bin>nsrjb -lnv -f rd=drpfee3:mkc400: 000125L4
setting verbosity level to `1'
No jukebox named 'null'
check_shared_devs returning err 1
C:\Program Files\Legato\nsr\bin>scanner -iv rd=drpfee3:mkc400:
8909:scanner: using 'rd=drpfee3:mkc400:' as the device name
9046:scanner: mkc400:: open failed, The filename, directory name, or volume label syntax is incorrect.
Even if I try
C:\Program Files\Legato\nsr\bin>scanner -V 000125L4 -iv rd=drpfee3:mkc400:
8909:scanner: using 'rd=drpfee3:mkc400:' as the device name
9046:scanner: mkc400:: open failed, The filename, directory name, or volume label syntax is incorrect.
Should I be doing something else?
Thanks,
Dave

Okay, frustration set in, I moved the Tape Drive off of my OpenVMS Server and attached it to my Windows Networker Server, created device \\.\Tape0 and ran the same scanner command: (scanner -vvv -m \\.\Tape0) and it worked and re-created my Tape Volume 000125L4 in the correct media pool. Why ?
