Legato Networker Module for exchange V 2.0 patch fail to recover database

Hello,
i have a problem to recover/restore e MS Exchange database V5.5.
This is my configuration:
Networker Server for Unix V7.2
Networker client W2k
Networker module for exchange V2 patch 6.
When try to recover the database with option "MSEXC:IS" size 36 gb it's fail with this error:
_nwbsa_is_retryable_error: received a retryable network error (Severity 4 Number 4): Unable to receive
_nwbsa_is_retryable_error: received a retryable network error (Severity 4 Number 3): Unable to send

The recover remain in hung state and database is not restored. The tape is not loaded from library.

If i try to restore the db "DIR.EDB" with option "MSEXC:DS" size 8MB the restore/recover is good.

Any idea about this?

Thanks in advance for help.

Ups, that's pretty old and unsupported... I remember those versions had some quirks and few patches were needed too. You might wish to open this with support as they will be in better position to identify what you have and what you need.

The error itself seems to indicate network problem, but I have also seen that due to at least one bug. Given that you have 7.2 (I guess initial build) I would start to pray.

Hi,
two years ago i have done the disaster recovery of Networker server and client with exchange db.
No problems found during disaster recovery and the restore of exchange db goes successfull.
The only difference from the last one disaster recovery is the size of db. Today 36gb and two years ago 12gb.
I think probably a bug about a size of db.

I don't think so...

we used to do recovers of that size without any problem (other than time), using version 2 - patch 006. Make sure you get that patch - as others have said, it was a pretty buggy piece of software.

Hi,
i have analyzing the problem with Legato support and it's finding a bug in the binary "nsrd" and "ansrd".
I have done the recovery with new binary and the problem is solved.

I would suggest you plan your upgrade to 7.2.2 b499.
