John,

from the NetWorker side of things its really only one command but with different flags, this is the nsrjb command. You can use command line or GUI

nsrjb -s NetWorker family. Choose the correct version and you will see all the guides available.

Welcome to NetWorker,

There are a number of documents on Powerlink that can help you:

At:

Home  >  Support  >  Technical Documentation and Advisories  > Software ~ J-O ~ Documentation  >  NetWorker Family  >  NetWorker  > 7.5 & Service Packs

The Networker 7.5 Administration Guide has a section on 'Using NetWorker software with ACSLS silos'.  The Administration
Guide is the best starting point for learning how to perform functions with NetWorker.

At:

Home  >  Support  >  Technical Documentation and Advisories  > Software ~ J-O ~ Documentation  >  NetWorker Family  > Technical Notes

The most relevant Technical Note for you is 'Configuring Tape Devices for EMC NetWorker Technical Note' which provides the
best practices for handling devices with NetWorker.

At:

Home  >  Support  >  Technical Documentation and Advisories  > Software ~ J-O ~ Documentation  >  NetWorker Family  > White Papers

Here, there are White Papers on integrating NetWorker with VTLs, particularly EMC Disk Library technology.

For a list of commands, you can check out:

Troubleshooting hardware problems with  NetWorker commands

http://solutions.emc.com/EMCSolutionView.asp?id=esg66543&usertype=C

There is a Command Reference Guide aswell in the same section of Powerlink as the Administration Guide which gives you full details on each of the relevant commands.

There's plenty of reading in all of that and if you have a more specific query, feel free to ask.

Thanks Bobby. Currently in our new environment we are getting more errors on saveset failure, tape drive issues, library issues. We are under pressure to fix this issues, and as we know this can be fixed by finding root causes. To work around, we need some commands which we are using for day-to-day administration, such as mounting, unmounting, lebeling, expring tapes and cleaning drives, library inventory and so on. If i get those list of commands, i can start from there to troubleshoot the issues.

Thanks,

John

In the Command Reference Guide on Powerlink, you will find examples of
using the nsrjb command to mount, unmount, label a tape.  The examples also cover adding a cleaning
tape and setting its uses.  There is also an example on inventorying (look also in -I section).  As regards expiring
tapes, it's a bit more complicated.  You can change the mode of a volume using nsrmm -o but it depends on exactly what you
are trying to do.
