NDMP Errors after Upgrading Networker 7.6.2 Windows
Hello,
after Upgrading to 7.6.2 Win2k3 32Bit we get Error Messages when doing NDMP Backups.
When creating temporary Files in the \nsr\tmp directory there is an Access deny for the Windows Group "NETWORK"
We did not run into this problem with the Networker Version before the Upgrade. It was Version 7.4.x
Especially the "fhfile" cannot be accessed.
Here are the Error Log entries:
42785:nsrndmp_save: Performing backup to NDMP type of device
42897:nsrndmp_save: Opened the tape device : nrst0a
42910:nsrndmp_save: Performing Non-DAR Backup..
83563:nsrndmp_save: Performing full backup, BASE_DATE = 0
42952:nsrndmp_save: netapp:/vol/sg1/.snapshot/exchsnap__edv1234_11-16-2011_19.20.06/sg1.lun NDMP save running on 'networker.server.loc'
could not open file C:\Program Files\Legato\nsr\tmp\FileIndex1371811481\fhfile
42617:nsrndmp_save: NDMP Service Log: DUMP: Using Partial Volume Dump of selected subtrees
Here a snapshot of the Access list. After giving rights to the NETWORK Group it changes to access deny during the next NDMP Session
can anybody help? Thank you very much

Are you using latest 7.6.2.6 or some earlier build?

we are running "NetWorker 7.6.2.1.Build.638 Network Edition/62"
is this Error specific to a special Built of Networker 7.6?

I'm not sure if permissions are problem and if newer build would fix it. Latest official build is 689 so you may wish to give it a try to be on the safe side. I also do not see why network group should be involved. Index processing is done locally by backup server and I expect that one to have full control over its own data.

Hi
Are you getting any backups at all from the NAS?
I have had some wierd problems with the same release of Networker backing up from a Celerra box.
It was fixed with an entry in the Host table of the Networker server pointing to the Celerra box.
Also check if IPV6 is enabled and disable if it is.
