NW Fast Start Boost license

Hi,

if I buy Networker Fast Start, I get 10TB B2D and 3TB Boost.

I only want to use Boost, what kind of license do I need to get more boost capacity.

Regards,

John

Just had a little chat with Pre Sales support.

To add extra boost license to our fast start setup we should select 456-102-514: DATA DOMAIN DEVICE TYPE: 1TB CAPACITY ENTITLEMENT from the existing networker setup tab in CXP as there is no option to add it from the fast start tab.

Hi John,

I believe you cannot have license for more than 3 TB for DDboost , i am not sure , but based on the following Community document seems the maximum is 3 TB :

https://community.emc.com/docs/DOC-10149

You can open a live chat or a service request to EMC and provide them your inquire and i am sure you will get the correct information if that applicable or not.

Waiting your updates.

Thanks,

From my understanding, Fast Start is a bundle of licenses to encourage smaller customers to move to Networker at a reduced price.  Once that is installed the environment should be able to be extended by adding further Networker licenses, so you should be able to add further DDBoost capacity by purchasing further licenses.  Your account manager should be able to clarify this.

I guess you can extend it but anyone any idea which license I need if I want to extend DD-boost with 1TB.

1: 456-100-703, VIRTUAL TAPE LIBRARY 1TB CAPCITY ADDON

2: 456-100-697: NETWORKER DISKBACKUP OPT TIER 1: 1TB

3: 457-100-227, Licensing Bundle for Data Domain 10TB capacity

According to a price guide I have from last year:

"Capacity entitlement licenses  available are 1 TB, 5 TB, 10 TB, 25 TB, and 50 TB"

However it doesn't state part numbers for these licenses...

You can add capacity entitlement for the Data Domain Device type : 1TB Capacity increments. In fact, that's the decripton for the product model, too. You don't need to add any more than that.

Ok, so If I want to use more DD boost then the default 3TB I get with fast start, I should select:

456-102-514: DATA DOMAIN DEVICE TYPE: 1TB CAPACITY ENTITLEMENT

But I can't select 456-102-514 in the new fast start setup in channel express, only if I select existing Networker setup.
