I just upgraded from 7.5.1 to 7.6., the install was smooth as can be.  I was done in a couple of minutes and it installed on the first attempt.

Jason - Great to hear that it went smoothly.Feel free to send me a note if there's every anything that you think should be changed/improved.

Mind if I ask what motivated the upgrade to 7.6?

Thanks.

Honestly, I figured what the heck, why not upgrade!  I liked the look of 7.6 and the last upgrade went smoothly for us.  From 7.4.3 to 7.5.1. Our environment isn't very big so upgrading isn't a huge task for me.

I have two question regardings virtualizaiton and how it works with NetWorker Fast Start.  1. I'm trying to find a white paper or something that explain this but so far have been unsuccessful.  Could someone point me in the right direction.  2. Attached is a screenshot, could someone explain to me what the exclamation point is all about?  Is it a license issue?  Thanks.

Hi Jason,

Check out this whitepaper on PowerLink regarding VMware protection with NetWorker 7.5. Most of it still rings true, although in 7.6 we did add the capability to restore files from image backups on Windows. You can read about this new functionality in the 7.6 Admin Guide in the section on support for VMware.

Regarding the exclamation point that you're seeing, we don't require additional licensing in order to use the VMware visualization map so that's not a licensing issue. Based on the screen shot it looks like you're not connecting to vCenter for some reason. Check the Admin Guide for the configuration steps there.
