Netapp NDMP and Licensing
Hi Guys, Been a while hope your all good.
I have seen about a trillion posts on NDMP so i thought it needed one more.
Currently we do not use NDMP but we are now installing some NETAPP SAN/NAS boxes. I am interested to know if NDMP is just a license for networker or does the Tape Library/Hardware need to Licensed for this as well? Also if e went down this path would we still be able to do traditional backups like we do now?
Thanks Guys and Gals in advance.

NDMP licensing is tiered based upon the NetApp filer model. You need one license per physical filer even if they are in a metrocluster. This does not affect your ability to perform traditional backups.

License Guide, as far as I know, state: licensing per frame. A Metro Cluster is two NDMP heads in one frame and need only one license
(per frame), not two (per head). I am wrong?

Thanks Guys for all your replies.
The question was more directed towards Networker and the required Licensing for NDMP for this backup solution.
