1) DPM does VSS backup of Windows environment (where VSS is supported). I'm not sure if it can use tapes - someone else could check that. Funny enough, it is not capable of backing up itself. 2) There is NMM module which does backup of DPM (addressing the DPM's issue of selfprotection). So you could use DPM for Windows boxes and then have that backed up by NW.

I believe you should let the two products work together. However dpm 2007 also has writing capabilities to tape...
