Networker 7.6.1 NDMP Failing in the GUI
I have been told that there is an issue with NDMP in Networker 7.6.1. If I backup up the NDMP device via command line, it works fine. If I try to back it up via the NMC GUI, it fails. Is there a fix or work around to this problem? With the command line working, that is telling me that Networker NDMP is configured properly. I reviewed a couple of messages and it told me it could not find the client due to DNS issues. I checked the DNS from both sides (client and NDMP device) and they both can see each other by either hostname or IP address. This verifies the forward and reverse lookup. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi,
For NW 7.6.1 its a must to apply hotfixes NW123608 and NW121944. Also, if NDMP backup is DSA? then these patches are required.
Please let us know.

This sounds much like the problem I'm having. We're running Solaris SPARC, 7.6.1.Build.397. Where can I find hotfixes for this?

Hi,
Thank you for the update, the files are being transferred currently, you can check in a few min.
The files are for solaris8w.
The ftp link is ftp://ftp.emc.com/outgoing/ndmp/
check the NDMP Client configuration and see if backup command is:
nsrndmp_save -M -T dump....then ONLY NW121944 is needed
IF on the other hand the backup command is:
nsrndmp_save -M -P hostname.....then NW123608 is ALSO needed
also NOTE that in the second option with -P hostname, the host mentioned in the -p will also require NW121944, but not NW123608
ONLY Server requires both when using -p
and storage node(which is the -p) host only needs NW121944
Hope the above explains it, please let us know how things progress.
