My first question would be what is your reason for wanting to change to Networker? For many customers moving Netbackup to Networker or vice versa there is a belief that changing software will resolve all problems they have been experiencing, whereas the problems more often stem from networking issues or a badly configured system. The other common reason for making the move is moving to one solution provider or a global standard. Knowing why you are making the transition makes it a lot easier to give advice!
That's a lot of different topics. If you would like to send me a private message with your details, I can have one of our EMC sales team contact you about this and he should be able to give you all of the info you need. Just click on my name and you will see on the right under 'Actions' - 'send private message'.
If you want to start looking into this yourself, here's some good starting points:
For integration with DataDomain and Avamar and tape management etc, there are White Papers and Technical Notes at the following location on Powerlink:
Home > Support > Technical Documentation and Advisories > Software ~ J-O ~ Documentation > NetWorker Family > White Papers
Home > Support > Technical Documentation and Advisories > Software ~ J-O ~ Documentation > NetWorker Family > Technical Notes
As regards, NetWorker versus NetBackup, I'm afraid I don't know anything about that but the EMC Sales guys would be able to help you with that or someone else on the forum might be able to enlighten you on some of the advantages or each....
Let us know if you don't find what you want in there or if you need more information on a particular area. Otherwise, send me a private message and I'll have someone call you and talk you through what you need to know.
Support - We feel that the level of support we get with Symantec is nowhere near adequate, EMC on the other hand have always given us excellent support across our Clariion / Celerra Estate
Integration - We are trying to build an EMEA wide backup strategy, converging on as few technologies as possible. We have Avamar in around 6 european offices and the integration with Networker is very attractive
Single provider - This is not a massive driver, but we already use EMC for Data Domain, Clariion (15 across EMEA) and Celerra (6 across EMEA) and I think that will probably grow.

Bobby - Thank you. We are already heavily engaged with an EMC sales team. I want to make sure that I cover all the bases when comparing the products

If you want to start looking into this yourself, here's some good starting points:
NetWorker 7.6.1 Administration Guide:
http://powerlink.emc.com/km/live1/en_US/Offering_Technical/Technical_Documentation/300-011-327.pdf?
This is basically the guide on how to do everything you need to do with NetWorker and should answer a lot of your questions.
As regards the building of servers, the Installation Guide is the instructions on how to do this:

For Avamar/NetWorker, there was a recent post on that in this forum providing good links:
