That was actually one of the first things that I checked, and I discovered that I do have one additional free license is there something that I need to do on the client that makes it use that available license

Hi,

As per the error above mentioned error from XBSA log

"nwbsa_is_retryable_error: received a network error (Severity 5 Number 12): The feature "NetWorker Module for Microsoft SQL Server" is not properly enabled"

This looks like license issue. There are no sufficient licenses for backing up this SQL client. Please check how many SQL licenses are in place under NMC-> Configuration -> registrations ->

Thank you

Hello,

Then, I would suggest you to follow these steps:

1. Copy all the SQL licenses you have in your system and note them in some document

2. Delete the Licenses from NMC

3. Stop the nsr services on the server

4.Rename tmp, and nsrladb folders

5. Start the services

6. Add the licenses back

7.Test your backups

Let me know your feedback

Thank you

Well I think it may be a permissions issue, as I just found this in the admin doc

Note:

When running the NMSQL User program in emulation mode on a SQL

Note:

When running the NMSQL User program in emulation mode on a SQL

Server 2005 x64, the permissions wizard is deactivated. In this case, refer to

the Release Notes for more information.

I have read through the relase notes, but... I found not reference to fixing this issue?  Did I miss something in my reading?

Renaming the nsrladb on the server would be not a good idea, because this will delete the peer information for all other hosts on the backup serevr, rather should only delete the peer information for the particular cllient, if needed. Just a caution.

Coming to the backup, are you able to take manual backupp? What is the output of nsrlic -vvv ? Is it windows 2003 or 2008?

I found the error, after looking through all of the installation guides/admin guides/Release notes.  I found that if I am wanting to backup this job to a datadomain device I have to uncheck the datadomain backup checkbox under deduplicaion on the Apps & Modules tab for the client.  I do not exactly remember which document had that reference, but one of them did.  Thank you for all of you help and support!
