Networker Status Flags

ssflags in mminfo command

status flags: CvrENiRPKIF

C -Continued
v -Valid
r -Purged (recoverable)
E -Eligible for recycling
N -NDMP generated
i -Incomplete
R -Raw(not for savesets backed up using rawasm)
P -Snapshot
K -Cover
I -In-progress
F -Finished(ended)

Where can I find the explanation for these flags ?

Doesn't seem to be in the Networker Command Reference or Administrator Guide

Martin,

Sorry I misunderstood your question.

Continued: Saveset spans a volume, so is written to two or more volumes.

Valid: Backup is good and finished with success status.

Purged: Saveset is passed its Browse time.

Eligible: Saveset is passed is retention time.

NDMP: Saveset from an NDMP backup (filer, Celera, NetApp etc).

Incomplete: Backup did not complete successfully, but some data may be able to be recovered.

Raw: Backup of a raw disk partition. Block level backup so no info regarding file system, directory, files.

Snapshot: backup taken using some type of snap technology.

Cover: Is part of a Snapshot backup, this is a special backup of some info which is required for Snapshot backups.

In-progress: Currently running backup, not complete fully yet.

F: Backup completed.

Hi William,

Isn't that what I type ?

What I need to know is

eg. what does Continue mean? what does Cover  mean....

I am looking for the definition of each flag.

Hi Martin, just checked 7.4 and 7.5 Command Reference Guides and they show the explanations you state here for the flags for ssflags, not sure which Guide your looking at (I have not downloaded 7.6 yet): --

ssflags NA 7 The save set flags summary, one or more

characters in the set CvrENiRPKIF, for

continued, valid, purged (recoverable),

eligible for recycling, NDMP generated,

incomplete, raw(not for savesets backed up

using rawasm), snapshot, cover,

in-progress and finished (ended),

respectively.

Martin,

Most of the flags (I think when your familiar with NetWorker) are fairly self explanatory, some like cover and continued may be a little more obscure but its experience really. I have not seen them defined like you ask, but I could follow-up with our document people internally as its really a question of pulling different pieces of information together from training material, Install and admin guides to get the definitions you requested. I will follow up internally outside this thread, any changes will be made in future releases but now we have a note here for reference also.

Bill Mason

Thierry,

mminfo manual has this covered.  The first flag indicates which part of the save set is on the volume, while second flag indicates the status of the save set.

Hi Thierry,

Cb = Continued and Browsable

CbK= Continued, browsable, Coverset (PowerSnap dependant saveset, most likely NMM)

So in answer to your question no, Cb or CbK is not the exact same as Cb, because a saveset with status "C" could be also Cr or CE.

Thank you.

Carlos.

Dear All ,

In Volume Save Sets , there is flag called cb and cr  but so far could not understand mean .

cb= complete browsable ( what mean here complete browsable ? )

cr= Complete recoverable ( what mean here complete recoverable ?

cb - means that the saveset can browse the file for recovery using the cli or NetWorker user or NMC recover resource. on the other hand cr - means the saveset cannot browse individual file within the saveset for recovery, however you will be able to recover the entire saveset.
