Networker and Xenserver

Dear all, Has EMC a plan to write a Networker Module for Xenserver like VMWARE one? thanks

Hi Yassine,

I did some research on this for you. I was told that it is on the list. But at the moment, VMware and Hyper-V are the primary focus. I'll enter an RFE for you so we can keep track of the demand. Are there others out there looking for Xen too?

Hi Yassine, Xenserver is in the software compatibility guide.  But are you looking for items such as off host backups, etc. that come from the vStorage API? Can you provide more detail? Thanks, Allan

Yes I mean VDisk backup like VCB especially for Disaster Recovery. As I understood, There is not API for Xenserver like that of Vmware.

We want to take backups of Virtual machines without installing client on top of the VM Operating system

Hi,

We have EMC Networker 7.4.2 working with VCB 1.1 but we are planning to migrate our virtual servers from vmware to xenserver. The only backup software that has a connector similar to VCB or vStorage API for XenServer is CommVault Sampana 9 so if there is no Networker connector for XenServer, we will migrate backup software.
