Networker backups successful, restores not
I'm new to networker and have been given this problem to solve...
backups work, however, when trying to do a restore this is the error....
Unable to connect to host: Could not get session key from (storage node) for GSS authentication with (client): authentication error; why = server rejected credential
ok....now what?
No Events found!

Usually this indicates an issue with auth mechanism (nsrauth) where either client vs storage node vs server do not use nsrauth (there is mismatch) or you have wrong peer information for client on server. You would need to check first if nsrauth is used by all 3 parties and if yes check if you have peer issue (usually indicated by warning message in daemon.raw).

I was told the problem isn't with nsrauth but with nmc itself. any ideas?

No for this kind of message. For this one it may be authentication methods not set equally between affected nodes.

Check which storage nodes t backups up to and ensure the same restores are done through the same storage node. To do this go to the NMC ->? connect to the respective backup server -> go to configuration -> Clients -> Find the client instance of the host you ar etrying the recover for -> right click and select properties -> Go to the tab "Globals 2 of 2". Here the ensure the entry for "Storage node" and "Recover Storage Node" is the same. If the recover storage node field is empty then this might not be the issue in your case.

ok, so each of them have different JB or are they all on a the same JB ? If they have different JB, identify the storage node that is connected to the JB tat contains this tape. Also, can you provide more details on how the backup is done.
