Networker for Vmware

Hi,

We're desiging the backup infra for our existing virtual infrastructure using vSphere 5.0 and Networker 7.6 sp2.

I have read the EMC Networker VMware Integration Guide but still have following need to be clarified:

1. EMC Networker does not support backup VM if the RDM is physcial compatibility mode. However, if the VM are MSCS setup in different ESXi, those VMs must use the RDM in physical compatibility mode. Then how to backup this VM with MSCS, for example SQL Cluster?

2. How to restore the SQL server for the disaster recovery scenario? We are thinking following approaches but do not whether it is supported or not.

a. Image level to backup the VM and also use NMM to backup the SQL data. In the DR, we will restore VM using image and then restore the data using NMM.

b. Using BMR in networker

Thank for any suggestion.

Boteasy.

Have you considered switching from pRDM to vRDM?
