Those core files belongs to NMC and it might be due to an issues during NMC which might have created during improper restart of NMC or else due to a serious performance issues on NMC . I suggest to delete all the core files post stopping gst services and then monitor it for a while . If in case it reoccurs then you should run pkgcore.sh (script) against the core file and then log a call with Dell.

"A core file or core dump is a file that records the memory image of a running process and its process status (register values etc.). Its primary use is post-mortem debugging of a program that crashed while it ran outside a debugger."

The last core file was over 2 months ago, so I would judge this to be an infrequent event.

If NetWorker Management Console is working to your expectations, and without any issues, then I would say that these core files are outdated and unnecessary, and can be deleted.

If you find that core files are being created regularily, then I suggest that:

  1. if you are not running a currently supported version, then update NetWorker and NetWorker Management Console to the latest version and cumulative build (a.k.a. service pack)
  2. if core files are still generated, then open a support ticket so that NetWorker engineering can analyze the core file.

cheers...
