Networker not picking unlabeled tapes

Hi list,

I am new to EMC Networker.

I have the following environment:

NW 7.5 Server running on a Windows 2008 box connected to a DELL TL4000

1 StgNode connected to a DELL 132-T

When backups are running, NW is not picking unlabeled (empty) tapes to use when there is no more space available on the tape pool in use. We have to manually label tapes and assign it to that pool BEFORE the schedule actually run....

Shouldn´t that happen automatically? I mean....the library should label tapes automatically and assign it to the pool that is requiring more tape space to continue a backup or a clone operation.

Any help is appreciated.

Mario, is Auto Media Management enabled in your system? This is the option that allows Networker to automatically label tapes when needed.

Hi Daniel, This option was not checked....you´re correct. I´ve checked it and now I am waiting to see if this is going to work. Thanks Mario
