Questions about Retention Time

Hi All

I have a little problem about retention time in networker..I have several client backed up using networker and set the retention policy below

- Server1 (daily) browse policy : week, retention policy : week

- Server2 (daily) browse policy : week, retention policy : week

- Server1 (monthly) browse policy : month, retention policy : month

- Server2 (monthly) browse policy: month, retention policy : month

Server1 at Pool1 and Server2 at Pool2

I create clone schedule every 8th in a month and retention policy is 2 month....

If today is 18th November so when I see saveset in pool1 volume I should find backup 1st November, 10th Nov-17th Nov(correct me if I'm wrong) but I find backup from 1st Nov-17th Nov so thats make volume size very large and when I check volume from pool2 the backup list is 1st Nov and 10th Nov-17th Nov.....

I dont know what happen, I set the retention policy only at client level.....Server1 is windows fs backup and Server2 is SQL backup...any idea?

I believe what you are seeing is expected behaviour – see NW Administration Guide Browse and Retention Chapter. It has explanation which you should be able to understand and relate to your set up.
