Additional info:

When i look to what is on the tape volume, i can see the save set of that client 190 Gb of data - browsable with flags cb

When i open Networker user, it does not see the backup of that client as being taken. The latest backup time for that server is 1 week ago.

How is this possible ?

Hi, Johans,

has your windows client got a lot of small files? Do you backup usual directories from HDD or is there any network mounted\local mounted directories (I'm not much of windows guy)?

Anyway, try to increase timeout first.

Can you check ssid flags with mminfo?  More worrying than failure itself would be ssid being marked as complete and valid (unless it failed for control session while data session is ok).

The Windows client is a Hyper-V server.

I backup mostly images (VHDs) of virtual machines which are stored on the D: drive which is a local disk.

When i split up the backup in parts, it seems to work.

Does this give you an idea of the direction of where the problem is to be found.

I'm playing on a foreign field again, but are virtual machines turned off whlie you backup VHDs? Or do you use VSS?

"Split backup in parts" - did you check all the files (maybe 99% of them are backed up normally and 1% is stuck etc)

Maybe you could try backing up some other type of file that is a similar size in order to ascertain if it is the nature of the file that you are backing up or the size of it that is causing the problem.   If smaller versions of the same data are backing up fine, then maybe your firewall is cutting the connection at some point.
