Restricted Data Zone conflict

When adding a client to a Group associated with a Restricted Data Zone, I am getting the message "resource attribute 'group' and this resource have a Restricted Data Zone conflict.  Please check the NSR restricted data zone settings or pick a different value for the attribute"

I am relatively new to NetWorker and have looked at it over and over, but do not see where the conflict is.  Please feel free to throw all questions and suggestions at me

Thanks

Joe

Are you using restricted zones?  If yes, it might be this client or group is already part of another restricted zone (like pool) and thus you get a conflict reported.

Hello Joe,

- It always help if you describe your environment as much you can and versions used.

- Are you a Global admin/Main user or and RDZ/tenant user?

The Restricted Data Zone (RDZ) feature allows the segmentation of existing resources into subsections based on      Restricted Data Zone resources defined by a privileged administrator .

A Restricted Data Zone resource contains a list of users and privileges with a restriction on the number of clients,      storage nodes, jukeboxes, and devices that are allowed to be associated with the Restricted Data Zone .

To create fine grain permissions, multiple Restricted Data Zone resources for the same Restricted Data Zone can be      created with different user lists and permission sets.

Resources are only allowed to be associated to one Restricted Data Zone at a time.

Groups cannot contain clients that belong to more than one group when the Restricted Data Zone association is      completed, unless those other groups are also associated to the RDZ at the same time

Are the client and group both belong exclusively to that particular restricted data zone ?

- Client name you are trying add have the right name ?

- I would suggest to check the RDZ pre-requisites and configuration from the admin guide and then go for further troubleshooting.

Hope that help for taking a direction.

Regards,

Can you explain your RDZ and associated resources?  Also, is your client in the same RDZ as backup server or separate one?  What properties are you using on group (eg. are you using no index save on group or not if group is outside backup server RDZ).

Thank you for the suggestions, but I am still unable to figure this out. I’ve tried all kinds of different things, creating clients first then add to groups, create RDZ first then add clients and all sorts of other combinations.

I’m sure this works, but the logic to RDZ’s and TU’s just seems backwards to me
