Running VADP Group results in Log: Savegroup Info: Waiting for 2 job(s) to complete

Hi All.

I'm in the middle of setting up Networker and I'm trying to manually kick off some VADP backups.

I'm putting one client in a group at a time to run a backup of each server - just to verify that everything is working.

I'm to the point now where I put a client in my VADP group and try to run it and the job just hangs in a waiting state, and the log says

Savegroup Info: Waiting for 2 job(s) to complete.

I had this one other time and it was that the pools that I was writing to got ended somehow.

Pools are up this time.. online... and none of my other groups have active jobs in them.

I don't know where else to look for the hangup.

I found one article on the web where it was suggested to rename the \nsr\tmp folder, along with the \nsr\res\jobsdb directories while the services were down... but that didnt help.

I can put different clients into my savegroup, and none of them will run.

I've also made sure to do an override on the schedule so that the backup will run.

(there were times where I forgot to do an override on the calendar for the day - which hung up some of my test backups)

Not sure where else to look for these mysterious hangups and where to clear them out.

Any ideas?

Hi,

The first thing you need to check is whether there are any Alerts in the NetWorker Management Console.  This will tell you if NetWorker is waiting for a volume to write to, and if so, in which pool and Storage Node it expects this volume.

I looked under Events in the NMC.

I see that backups are failed over the last couple days... not particually the one that I'm working with... but there are some other jobs listed here.  The messages for those jobs are just generic saying " failed"

Not sure how to get more information on these jobs that failed.

I dont see any additional information about volumes waiting to be written to, anything about pools or Storage nodes....

Not sure where you would see details like this.

No Events found!
