Several DB2 backups are failing with SQL2025N An I/O error "0" occurred on media "VENDOR".
I have several DBs failing with this error. Does any know how to resolve this error "0"? One of the occurance is a system with two DBs. One DB is successful and the other failed with this error "0". Both DBs start at same time from the same group. The Networker group has 10 DBs starting from 6 different systems and 2 of the DBs get this error. The other system getting this error is a single DB system. The ones that fail backup for about 8 or more hours and then get this error. Even after these DBs fail others will complete backing up. Please any ideas or suggestions are appreaciated. - D.
The primary backup server is running Networker 7.4.4
The backup clients are running Networker 7.4.4 or 7.3.5 with the DB2 module of 2.1

Hi,
The most likely cause of I/O errors is hardware problems with particular devices or firmware/driver issues. Your best bet is to find a common denominator between what is failing. Is it always failing on a particular drive and/or volume? Is it only failing at times of greatest load on the server? Are only very large backups failing? Only DB2 backups but not filesystem? I think if you can identify a pattern, you'll quickly find where the problem is.
