Shares disappear during backups
Good day,
We have a file server hosted on a Windows 2008 server which has NetWorker client v7.5.5 installed on it. The file server is a virtual machine hosted on Microsoft Hyper-V. Users have been complaining about shares being accessible for a while and on further investigation we found that the this happens during a full backup of this machine. The backups occasionally fail with the error stating random folders missing, these folder happen to the shared folders.
I have updated the client version to 8.0.2.5 and waiting for the outcome. but meanwhile wanted to check if anybody else in this forum have come across any similar scenario ?

Update :
The issues was found to a bad sector on the Hard disk that has Partition that the VHD for the affected F drive was stored on the Hyper-V server. Wasn't a NetWorker issues after all. I hereby close the post.

Is it possible that the shared folders are disabled temprarily by someone who has enough permission?
Have you tried to stop the shares and then share them again?
You may also check whether the network connection to the file server is lost when the shared folders are missing.

The windows team reported that they see error code 51 on the event logs. They have to restart the server to get rid of the error and this happens every time a full backup runs. I assume its not a network choke, I assume the disk is not able handle the intensive reads. I have even set the parallelism to 1 to avoid multiple save operations. I just dont get it.
