Slowness with cloning tapes
Hello,
I am using Networker 7.4.4 , usually when I do the weekly cloning it takes
less than 15 hours to clone 6 tapes (LTO4 1.6TB). Now I am experiencing a
technical difficulties when I want to do the cloning, during 24 hours it
just clone about 200GB the.
Would you please help fix this issue?
Notes:
The operating system windows 2003.
The backup Library is HP MSL8096.

For your issue , you need to troubleshoot the Cloning performance to get the cause of this slow performance, As there is a lot of causes, To investigate more please read the following Powerlink solution :

You probably have 2 modes of enquiry. Firstly part of your system may be running slowly (tape devices, network, SAN etc). Alternatively, the system may be okay but something about your configuration is causing issues (for example savesets spanning multiple tapes may cause excessive tape mounts and unmounts during cloning, contention for tape devices between backups and clones etc). You will need to check what is happening on your tape devices and also check the logs to see whether Networker is giving out any errors or waiting to do something.

I had the same problem and was solved updating to version 7.5.2
Fixed bugs in NetWorker release 7.5 Service Pack 2

Hello Ahmed,
It worked for next week while it did not for the previous week. this week also the cloning took 6 days and finally failed.
Please advice.
