Software Administration Wizard
Since I have installed my NMC I have not upgraded my clients. I am trying to use the software administration wizard but it appears that I have no usable files in the repository, or at least not any it recognizes. I have downloaded the latest stable version of Networker and unzipped it and put it in the directory. It keeps saying no available software was found.
I have a UNIX (AIX) server and the clients are Windows so I was wondering what exactly are the procedures. Do I download the Windows or the AIX software to upgrade the clients? Do I put it under /nsr/repository or do I just need to get a hard copy?

When server is UNIX based and you wish to add Windows platform, you will need Windows box for that where in the same folder on server and Windows box you put unpacked package and add it to repository.

don't really know what the problem is, but some points:
- upgrade will work only for clients with NetWorker version 7.3 or higher
- it appears that filling out of the Repository with roll-out packages also needs to be done with Software Administration Wizard, not by just unpacking zips (see NW Install Guide)
- you need Windows software to be added to repository in order to upgrade Windows clients
hope this helped some...

I have a full unzipped download of Networker 7.4.2 for Windows 32 bit (nw734_win_x86_ZDI-CAN-298). It will not let me put it into the repository so I can push it out. I keep getting "Please specify a valid media kit location. Failed to find Media kit".
Is there a specific file that I need to put in for it to find, I put in the path to the directory and even all the way down to some of the files in the directories but no luck.
Am I even using the right download? Should I be using the AIX download even though I am trying to upgrade Windows clients?

Want exactly is a "roll-out" package? Is it the same same the regular downloads?
How or what exactly, do I add the Windows software to the repository?
Can you please direct me to the correct place in the Installation Guide that tells me how and what to add to the repository?

- unzip that package and put it into server (eg- /var/tmp/NW)
- unzip that package and put in on some Windows box (eg. C:\Temp\NW).
- root name (NW in my example) should be the same
- if you use GUI, select add, Windows platform and you will be asked then about local location and then remote location (Windows box)
- on Windows box cps package will be created and copied over to your UNIX box into selected repository
If your NMC server is not running on backup server box, then you must have nsrauth enabled. You can override that by using nsrpush directly from server. And that's about it.

Hello!
I've tried to add software to the repository with following error message:
nsrpush -a -W -p NetWorker -v 7.6.1 -P win_x64 -m /tmp/mediakit/ -c cifs02 -C "C:\mediakit"
Hostname and mount point recorded.
Failure adding product from:
/tmp/mediakit/nw76sp1_win_x64/win_x64
Remote system error - Connection refused
Add To repository Operation Failed
