Question

Dear All, Sorry, if my not good in english. Current Config: 1 Networker 6.1.2 on AIX 4.3 2 Tape Library L-180 / 9840A x 3 and 9840B x 1 drive. 3 Another NWK Client 6.1.2 on AIX is AIX version 4.3 and 5 I has to backup on device rd=bgcfc:/dev/rmt2.1 and device rd=/dev/rmt3.1. It has write data a little bit to be done (full). But If I has to backup with client bgch80 or self backup server on same media it write successed to complete. What happened on client bgcfc?. Remark: But the client bgcfc can backup completed on device rd=bgcfc:/dev/rmt4.1. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Errors indicating tape drive failure do not come just with no reason so I would suggest you involve your support on this matter. Could be controller card if rmt2 and rmt3 are sharing same controller.

Those kind of errors are normally down to some kind of failure - check that thoroughly and see if you can find source of failure.
