Transferring SQL Module License to New Client
I need to release a sql module license from one client and reuse it for the new client I have set up and installed sql module, but although I have uninstalled the sql module from old client, in networker the license is still in use and is not released. Therefore I can't use the unused license for my new client. how can I do this?

Hi
As above I'm wanting to reuse NW SQL module licences - I have removed all outstanidng jobs/goups etc from NMC, closed down Networker, deleted /nsr/tmp and reloaded Networker, but when I run nsrlic -v again, it still shows all NW SQL licences still in use.

Reomving module software from the client will not remove the SQL licence. You need to change the SQL save set on the server for that client OR delete that client resource that has MS SQL online save set and backup command. Configure it for the new client and stop NW...delete/rename tmp folder and start NW services. This should help. Remember if the client has save set/backup command for online backups, just removing/renamin tmp would not help.

The best way to release a licence and reuse it is to uninstall the SQL module on the client and then delete the client entry from the networker server. You can check by running a nsrlic -v command after deleting a client and you will notice that a licence would have been freed. After than add a new client and specify the MSSQL savesets and backup command and run a test backup so that the new client can acquire the freed up license. The license would not get assigned unless a backup is initiated.

This has not made any difference - I still wish to retain the Networker Client Licences on the hosts where the NW SQL module licence is no longer required.
I have uninstalled the NW SQL software - all jobe etc have been deleted from NMC, Networker has been stopped, the contents of /nsr/tmp removed and Networker restarted.
I have then tried to setup Networker on another host ( we have ample client licences) along with the NW SQL module - but when trying to run a backup - it states on NMC that NW Module for Sql Server is not properly enabled.
Whne running nsrlic -v - the licences are all in use and assigned to hosts where the NW SQL software and jobs habe been removed
