Thanks alot guys. The issue seems to be with IPv6 (ahmet told about this) and DNS resolution (Hrovje) resolved now.

Now the issue is I can add the active node to backup but DBs are not listed in the pane while backup configuration.

If i go for client server and access networker user for SQL server

cluster error.PNG.png

There are two nodes in the server . I have installed client on both the servers.

How to add the cluster name to networker ?

Will not be added automatically after configuring agents in both the node?

What shall i need to do to complete SQL backup configuration

Hello

İf you use 2008 sql or higher with nmsql module you should install sql2005 backward compability pack. Also there is another problem if you use nw 8.0 or higher the gui wizard is not work properly you can add clients manually.

Yes . I  have installed networker 8.0.2 only .. I have uninstalled and installed nw 7.6 to test.

Again installed nw 8.0.2 software in client.

Ran NMM config checker version 1.1.2.0

Please find the attachement for failures

It says :

Microsoft Windows Server 2012 Datacenter 6.2.9200 Current operating system is not supported.

Current installed version: 8.0.2 (Client) is not supported.

??

What version of NMM is that?

Did you add the cluster name to your nw server host file ?

Do you want to configure backups with VSS or VDI approach?

Hi Hrvoje,

That was resolved. yes that error because of nmm2.3, Then I have installed 2.4 its working fine.

I am able to configure backups with server name and selecteing file system. If I select SQL server from application I can see the server name but no SQL DBs are listed.

also  I am unable to configure new backup with SQL cluster name name from networker server.

Note: when I try to connect networker user for SQL it is giving error client not found. i,e, it is trying to connect to the cluster name.

Small update. I do not have SLQ 2012, but I have win2k12 so I did a test.  I have 8.0.2.2 installed and I used NMM 2.4SP1 build 122 (released 10 days ago).  As expected, I do not get any complain about win2k12:

In short, I passed everywhere except for SQL, but that one was expected as I do not have it (just wanted to see what happens).  If you get that NW version is not supported, I assume you have NMM 3.0 - in that case you need NW 8.1 on client (or you have older NMM).

VSS ..

I wanna clear something here

windows cluster name : edvxedwcp02

Sql client access name is : edwebcorpsql2

After installin NMM 2.4 software I opened NMM applications and added networker server

then tried to open networker user for SQl, here I can see the networker server name in the list but getting error like above .. you can see the image(31 reply)

It is directly trying to connect sql access name but failed

If you wish to use VSS, do not use user for SQL. User for SQL is using VDI approch (manual backups and restores).  For scheduled backups via VSS, you may wish to see if SQL is visible by running nsrsnap_vss_save -v -? (see administration guide for details).  Make also sure you have appropriate permission access (see administration guide for more details).  Also, make sure SQL server writer service is enabled.  I would also suggest to read both administration and application guides to gain better understanding of workflow and differences between VDI and VSS approaches (application guide comes handy here).
