Unable to perform a directed recover of an SQL database

Consider the following setup :

Server (server.dom-alfa.ext) :

MS Windows Server 2003

NetWorker Server for Windows V7.5.4.Build 604 Network Edition

Client (client.dom-beta.ext) :

MS Windows Server 2003

MS SQL Server 2005

Networker Client V7.6.2

NW Mod for SQL V5.2.2

On the server, we have added the following line in the users field of the administrators group :  "user=user,host=client.dom-beta.ext"

Now we want to perform a restore of an SQL database backed up on another client (a directed recover), so we log into the client as user 'user@dom-beta.ext' and open the 'Networker User for SQL server' GUI.  But we cannot select a source client other than client.dom-beta.ext.  Hostname resolution is OK (using the hosts file) both on hostname and FQDN.  We have already tried using the FQDN, just the hostname, using a local account instead of a domain account, etc...  Unfortunately without success.

What are we missing here ?  Any help would be greatly appreciated...

Hi,

Try do this below:

Configuration > Client > Properties of the another client > Global 2 of 2 and add user@client.dom-beta.ext in remote access field.

Regards.

Hi Luis,

This is indeed the million dollar tip...

When I add the 'user@client.dom-beta.ext'  to the remote access list of the source client (where the entry MSSQL@client.dom-beta.ext was already present b.t.w.), the source client shows up in the Networker for SQL client GUI on the destination client.

Thanks a lot for the effort...
