VTL licensing with a partitioned VTL frame

Question

I've run a NetWorker environment with two VTL Frames from Quantum. Now I'm introducing a new storage node and at least for now I don't want to mess around with sharing drives from the existing VTL partitions to the new storage node, and besides I don't have DDS licenses. Keep it it simple, one partition per storage node. The Quantum VTLs support up to I think 64 logical VTLs in each physical frame. I have successfully created and presented the new partition to the new storage node. I could even label some virtual tapes. However, when I try to do an inventory I get 'The VTL is not properly licensed. Make sure the VTL is properly enabled and authorized (VTL frame enabler needed). I'm not entirely surprised by this, NetWorker sees this partition as a new VTL. It has it's own serial number, I used a previously unused target port in the physical frame and the drives too are new with new serial numbers. How can I configure NetWorker (or possibly the VTL) so that my existing two VTL frame enabler licenses cover this third partition?

The licensing guide states: ' A Virtual Tape Library Frame license must be purchased for each physical hardware frame that supports VTLs. If the Virtual Jukebox attribute is set to Yes during configuration, but a Virtual Tape Library license does not exist, the configuration will succeed but subsequent library operations will fail. ' I have only two physical hardware frames, and the corresponding two licenses.

NetWorker considers each partitions as a separate library. So I don't think NetWorker will allow same license to be used on deferent partitions.

You might need separate enabler license for each partition.
