can not make TSA connection

Question

Hi all. I'm trying to back up my netware 6 server. We had a power spike the other nite and it killed the backup. Now when I try to run a backup (either through networker admin or the console) I get 'can not make TSA connection'. I checked my other netware server and it's using TSAFS so that's what I use on this one. I tried TSA600 for the heck of it and that didn't work either so I just loaded TSAFS again. Here is the exact error: *ctcn: All 4 retries attempted *ctcn: all nsrexec: authtype rsh *ctcn: all cannot make TSA connection to default netware server (SMDR-5.0-15) The named TSA is not loaded on the server. Load the TSA and try again *ctcn; backup server failed I've tried reloading/unloading, etc... Should I keep trying this. I know this has happened in the past and it worked but this time it isn't. Thanks!

What about SMDR module? Did you reload that one too? Also check if configuration of SMDR is the same as before.

I saw SMDR was still runing so I unloaded that and RCMDSRV, etc... the rest that needed reloaded and loaded everything up again from the beginning. I'll try again and let you know.

also how do I check the SMDR config? I've never done that before. Thanks!

I vener did it myself either. I know when you don't have it configured and you load it you will be asked several questions you need to answer. To check existing config or to run reconfig you will probably need hand of NetWare admin (or at least Novell KB for it) - probably 'load smdr new'.

It worked! I just unloaded everything/module that it uses. After I reloaded SMDR it took off and ran. Thanks again. Your help is always welcome and great appreciated!
