can't run jbconfig

Hi,

when running the command jbconfig in order to initialize the tape library on Networker server, the following appears after choosing "2) Configure an Autodetected SCSI Jukebox":

What kind of Jukebox are you configuring? [1] 2
Scanning SCSI buses; this may take a while ...

There appear to be no SCSI jukeboxes connected to this system.
This could mean the SCSI jukebox(es) are not connected to the system,
cannot be seen (pending a reboot) or have already been configured.
On Windows Systems, this could mean that the SCSI jukebox(es) are
enabled for Microsoft Removable Storage.

Please rerun the program after making the necessary changes.

The Tape Library is connected through a SCSI card to the Networker server(Windows 2003 32-bit), and its drive is being noticed by th OS under Tape Drives by isntalling its driver.

I also, stopped the service: removable storage.

This is the output of the command inquire:

I also don't see library from inquire output. I see one LTO3 tape and second one which doesn't have path (probably due to drivers, but due to type I assume that is standalone device and is out of scope).

Can OS see your library? Is there any difference when you run inquire -cl? At what address is your library and how is connected? Can you confirm you do not have library drivers installed?

I also can"t run jbconfig (Networker 7.4) with Windows 2003 R2 SP2 Enterprise X64 Edition.

OS can see library.

When i start jbconfig with Windows 2003 R2 SP1 Enterprise X64 Edition everything is ok, Networker can see library.

java, your problem is different one and caused by MS SP2 and their driver.

we opened a case with the support team of Quantum. it turned out that the tape library is in an end of life state. so, we replaced it and it was solved.
Thank you

Java,

This is a documented problem with NetWorker 7.4 that is resolved in 7.3.3. If you cannot use 7.3.3 then you need to contact support and get hold of patch LGTsc07253.
