cannot resolve host '' to 'x.x.x.x', name server may be misconfigured
Hi,
I'm getting a backup error "cannot resolve host ' ' to 'x.x.x.x', name server may be misconfigured"
My bkup server is W2k3 running NW7.4.5
This is a new backup.The client in question is w2k8 64bit. I initially got the error on NW745 but upgraded the client to NW751 also with the same result.
I've ran nslookup and pinged short name, long name and IP. All are good. I'm assuming since I get good results that the name server is not misconfigured.
I've edit hosts file on both server and client both have entries for bkup server and client name itself.
client has a static ip configured.
Anyone have any ideas on other things I could check?

When you mentioned storage node, I realised I didnt copy out my updated hosts file to my storage nodes. The server previously had another ip. Once I copied over my bkups started working.
